Ready-Teddy-Go New Challenge for April

I can barely [no pun intended, lol] believe that it is April already!!!
Who is eating the year away???

Sorry that I've been a little AWOL in blogland just lately, I'm having some back problems at the mo and haven't been able to keep up at all.

Anyway April means that there's a new challenge over at the Ready-Teddy-Go challenge site and

this month we're getting a little sketchy

Not too difficult . . . right?

Here's what I was able to create . . .

The basic card is 6 x 6 scalloped white cardstock.
I matted and layered the initial layer with Core'dinations textured card and DP from the Forever Friends "New Baby" paper pad.
I used another striped sheet of the DP and chalked the edges of the strips to give them definition.

The image is from Penny Black . . . isn't it lovely?
I coloured it entirely with Prismacolor pencils blended with Sansador . . . I've been using them more and more lately in preference to the Copic markers.  They're great for blending and give me a softness to my finished image that I can't seem to achieve with the Copics.

I chalked around the coloured image with Papermania shimmer chalks in pastel blue to give the impression of sky in the background.

A little bit of glitter glue on the little pink blossoms makes them pop.

The card was finished with little blue bows and turquoise buttons with paper raffia threaded through them.

The sentiment was from the Spring Chic range from Carte Blanche.

The butterflies are from my stash . . . I think they were bought from eBay, many moons ago and I finished them off with some tiny pearls.

Final photo of my maker's mark and finish to the back of the card made using the scraps from the card.

Again I used some of the shimmer chalk to make it pop a little.

Why not pop over to the challenge and see what the rest of the DT came up with . . . there are some stunners!!!

And while you're there why not have a go  . . . the prize this month is amazing  . . . a goody bag from Meiflower, very generously sponsored by Shabana, thank you so very much !!  And a big thank you goes to Sally [my second in command] for sorting this out for us.  Thank you Sally.

The Meiflower online store stocks some beautiful and great quality embellishments; gems, ribbons and metal charms etc to give your finished card the WOW factor and it's all very reasonably priced too so your bank manager won't be calling you, lol.

That's all for now
Thanks for visiting

Thanks for the lovely comment on my blog. This was a fabulous sketch to work with and love your take on it! You are right about the pencils making the image look softer, it looks great and great idea to make the back match x
