Tilda Sends a Love Letter

Morning All,
Oh my word, it is cold here today.
I had hoped that Spring might be waking up and that some sunshine might soon be on the cards but it seems that Winter has not quite finished its performance yet and so I will have to be content with making cards which have a more summery appeal about them for now.

I think that this little Tilda is one of my very favourites, she is so adorable with her curly locks.

This card is my solution to making an easel card from a couple of scalloped card blanks.
The straight edge that you are left with when you cut the second of the card blanks in half is orientated so that the straight edge is at the top of the card.
I have then used a ribbon threading punch from Fiskars to make the embellishment at the top.

The background papers are from the First Edition paper stack called "Love Letters", very pink and very girlie . . . lovely!!!

I used a Marvellous Squares die from Spellbinders to cut the image mat from gold mirror card.
The swirls were also cut from gold mirror card using a Marianne Design die.
The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The Tilda image was coloured as usual with Copic markers and areas were picked out with Stickles "Stardust" glitter glue.  I embossed the background mat that Tilda is stood against with a post mark stamp but I think I used the wrong embossing powder (Stampendous Frantage).  It was too chunky really and didn't pick out enough detail so "note to self: do not use Frantage on delicate stamped areas again!"
The banner sentiment was taken from my stash.

The matching box was made from A3 white cardstock and decorated with Core'ordinations cardstock which has been passed through an embossing folder.  The relief on the design was then picked out with a metallic ink stamp pad and more Stickles allowed to flood the circular areas.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz Challenge #11 - Die Cuts
Marvelous Magnolia Challenge #19 - Dies
Crafty Creations Challenge #214 - Embossing

Thanks for visiting
