Princess and the Frog 3D Paper Piecing Card

Hi I'm back again with the second of the 3D paper piecing cards, this time I used another Sylvia Zet digital stamp called the Princess and the Frog.  This image is available from Spesch Designer Stamps.

I can't for the life of me remember where this DP is taken from.
I found it in a little pile without labels (very helpfully), it's an annoying habit of mine.  Of course it matched my topper perfectly so I had to use it.  I normally colour my image to match my DP but I was so excited by getting this technique right, I went racing ahead with my Copic markers without considering which paper I was going to use.

The dimension of the paper piecing can be seen in this photo.
The lacy edge has been punched using a Martha Stewart edging punch and like in the last 3D paper pieced card I've hand sewn the edges, this time using a multi-coloured metallic thread.

I used Tim Holtz Distressing Ink to colour the background and embellished it with Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Cream.
I've highlighted around the image with Stickles Stardust too.

I finished embellishing the card with a rolled rose (first attempt at these and I must say I like them) and 3 mm flat backed self adhesive pearls.
The sentiment says "Love you, Darling" which I thought was really funny, as I'm probably giving this card to my husband for our anniversary.  He's my frog, I mean Prince you see, lol.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Beautiful card Julie Ann.
I LOVE the paper piecing effect, it gives the image so much more dimension and really brings it to life. Sadly I'm useless at it!

Many thanks for your comment on my blog..bloglovin certainly counts :)

Big hugs
