New Challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty

Wow, how quickly this week has flown by . . . shocking!

We enjoyed a few days of sunshine here recently and so I took the opportunity to get out into the garden and complete a few pruning and planting jobs which have been on my 'To Do' list for a long, long time.  I feel so much better now that I've been able to cross them off.  I'm a prolific list maker and there is no greater satisfaction than a completed list, lol (for me anyway).

Any hooooo ... it's Wednesday once again and that means a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge, this week's theme is a fun one

Create a Joy Fold card

There's a wonderful Splitcoaststampers tutorial to guide you, click HERE
It's a great little card to make, simple and so effective

This week we are sponsored by

with a prize of 4 digi images of the winner's choice

and

with a prize of 5 images of the winner's choice

I was asked to work with a Eureka Stamp image this week, this adorable little puppy - Lg Heart Puppy

Here's my card:

Firstly apologies for the appalling photography, I couldn't get a photo where the colour didn't look washed out.   I don't know what I was doing wrong.
Anyway, I followed the Splitcoaststampers tutorial and measurements using Kanban cardstock.
I hand-stitched around all the matting layers with gold metallic embroidery thread from Coats.

I printed the cute puppy image a number of times onto a brown gingham cardstock and decoupaged the image.  I think you can make out the dimension from the photo above.  The nose was coated with Glossy Accents.

The 'WOOF' and 'It's a dog's life' sentiment was stamped and embossed in gold embossing powder.
The circle sentiment serves to hold the top fold flap in place when closed.
The 'buttons' are brown Card Candi's made to look like buttons with a black marker and white gel ink pen.

The sentiment inside was stamped using the same stamp set from "Cloud 9".
The inside was decorated to match the front.

Why not have a go at a Joy Fold card, it's lots of fun and show us what you make by entering the challenge.
Pop on over and have a look what my teamies came up with too.

Thanks for visiting
